Hi, I’m Sally - the creator of Gelato Home Decor.

 

Living with visual impairment has shaped my life in many ways. Everyday tasks that may seem simple to most can feel overwhelming without perfect sight. Growing up, I often felt like an outsider — surrounded by people who could see clearly, while I wrestled with feelings of inadequacy, fear, and isolation.

 

But then came COVID. The world slowed down, and suddenly, I wasn’t alone in my struggles. For the first time, I felt connected to others who were experiencing challenges of their own — difficulties in studying, working, socializing, or simply stepping outside. It made me realise something powerful: every one of us faces disabilities, whether physical, emotional, or mental. And in that truth, we all have an opportunity — to show understanding, to lend a hand, and to use our individual gifts to create a positive impact in our community.

 

In the middle of that uncertainty, I found my spark. I immersed myself in learning, watching endless tutorials, and eventually completing an online candle-making course. What began as curiosity grew into passion, and soon, Gelato Home Decor was born.

 

From the very beginning, every candle I poured carried a piece of my heart. When I showcased them online, at markets, and at local events, people quickly realised these weren’t just candles. They were symbols of resilience, joy, and hope — little beacons of light meant to inspire and connect.
